I'm Sarah and I'm the owner of Rockpool Recruitment. That feels a bit strange saying that but also incredibly exciting. As I write this I am 10 days away from my launch date - it's almost here.
This is something I have always wanted to do since I took my first recruitment job in 1997. I felt like I had finally found something that I was good at and that I enjoyed - I loved the fact that I was helping people find the jobs of their dreams and really enjoyed the relationships I formed with clients. Having been in the industry for 21 years I have met my fair share of different colleagues and competitors - many have been wonderfully professional and talented but many did not share the same values as me and as I saw more and more consultants driven to hit targets and KPIs rather than putting candidates and clients first, I became determined to create my own business that truly looked after its people and its customers.
My main focus at work has always been to keep a happy team; to support them, to give them the best tools to do the job, to encourage, challenge and reward them. I have opened several branches of recruitment businesses across the country and the most successful teams have often been the happiest - happy people give great service and create happy customers and that has certainly been my experience.
My main aim is to really look after our team, our clients and our candidates. I won't be happy if this isn't being done and we will strive to be the absolute best at what we do.
